Chills1994
Ah... good... I kinda saw this thread the other day and was tempted to chime in with my 2 cents, but it looks like everyone else has said what I was gonna say. It's a buffer for chrissakes... It's a motor with two spindles, one on each end... It doesn't need to be a Baldour (cha ching?) How hard or expensive can it be to make? I think if you were to poke around on the woodcraft DOT com website you might be able to find a bench grinder, possibly made by Delta, in Taiwan , that actually has a variable speed controll knob to it. How fast you can crank it up or down, I have no idea.... I couldn't find it on the woodcraft site but I did find it here via a quick google search: http://www.toolbarn.com/product/delta/GR450/ Sometimes when I am in the shop, I take the buffing wheel and chuck it in the lathe rather than try to screw around removing the stone wheels and guards from my bench grinder. The lathe gives me many more options in variable speed than any bench grinder ever could. Edited April 17, 2008 by Chills1994
