SRT Driver
Since the question was asked about comps and 45ACP, does a comp have any benefit in a wheelgun? Never tried one in a revolver, so I hope someone who has can answer. I'm putting together a revolver in 38 Super and a .355 16 twist bbl to shoot 38 super minor (125 pf) loads. The comp question has been thrown around quite a bit. With the BC gap and a minor load, would a single or dual port comp be worth the extra effort? Patrick Sweeney
Comps help, but put your wheelgun into Open. The .45 ACP is the lowest pressure cartridge around, and anyone who had any aspiratiosn of doing well in the 8-Pin event at Second Chance had their guns Mag na Ported. My gun has eight slots in it. Jerry Miculek built an M-27 for pins with an 8 inch barrel and a comp on it like an artillery cage.
BigDave
Patrick, I don't believe this will be a USPSA gun. What about high pressure cartridges like the 38 Super? DP
SpeedStick
SRT Driver, Simple answer, yes a comp helps with minor loads. If you go to the included web page you will see what a hybrid does with exactly the loads you want to use.
