Throwin Lead
Storm Lake now offers aftermarket match grade barrels for the M&P full size and compact, in 9mm, .357 and .40, plus .45 in full size. Link I checked out the suppliers listed on their site - Midway & Brownell's - and nobody has them listed yet as being in stock. Judging from the cost of the Glock barrels these could be in the $135 - $150 range. Remains to be seen how much - if any - improvement the aftermarket barrel makes regarding accuracy. I guess we will have to wait for a review.
mike cyrwus
I will wait for a manufacturer to make gunsmith fit barrels. 416 steel is nice, but a real improvement in accuracy will only come from a oversize barrel fitted to a pistol. Drop-ins are great to swap a 40 to .357, and it looks like theyre offering threaded barrels, too.
