gunrunner99
Ok, anybody know a good load for Montana Gold 165 JHP's with VV N320. My gun likes them short 1.140. Loading with 180's and N320 and like it but want to see what all the fuss is. Any ideas?

shooter_rob
Not sure about the short OAL but I load my 165 JHP Zero bullets at 1.20 with 5.6 of Vit. N320. I use small rifle primers. The load is quick and snappy but it makes the sight track very fast and straight to the rear like I want. With the shorter OAL you may want to start out at about 5.0 and work your way up. I think you will like the load.
Mistral404
1.2 aol, 180 gr. zero with 5.1 VV320 usually gives me about a 180 PF 1.2 aol, 180 gr winchester 5.1 vv320 usually gives me about a 178 PF Both of these readings were in warm weather-the last one was at Nationals I just chrono'd 1.19 aol, 180 MG, 4.8 vv320 gave me a 150 PF and 5.0 was a 160 PF. The problem with the last load was the temperature. It was about 50 degrees outside and the ammo was very cold. I am going to chrono the same loads when it warms up tomorrow. I think the temperature played havoc with my PF. Perhaps the reduction in aol also but I am not experienced enough to say right now.
