smokshwn Posted December 15, 2007 Share Posted December 15, 2007 In a semi auto like an AR with a floating firing pin the harder cup of the mag primers gives you more insurance that you won't have a primer ignited when the bolt goes into battery. Big Bore Posted December 15, 2007 Share Posted December 15, 2007 I havn't had any problems with standard primers. Some reloading manuals call for magnums with certain powders.
