Gallow
One reason to LOOK that no one has mentioned: lots of us shoot a number of different guns. For example, if you go from an open gun with an enormous mag well to a single stack, and you’re accustomed to not looking, you’re likely to screw up the single stack reload. What you can get away with varies from gun to gun.
Mo Hepworth
I actually just viewed the new Eric Grauffel DVD. He describes his technique and appears to look each and every time he does a mag change. he also leaves the gun level for just enough time for the mag to clear the gun. He describes and shows himself performing a bad reload and includes it on the DVD.
trevoro
The key to faster reloads is to hang your tongue out the left side of your mouth to help offset the weight of the gun in your right hand. I think looking helps too. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CZ-ocJ3P3JI Edited November 23, 2007 by trevoro
