as usual i have one too many fingers in one too many honey pots. I have acquired an STI lower, it is complete with all the bells and whistles, but i have no upper. i have been tossing around the idea of building an open gun, but my heart and hearing are just not in it. so i am looking at making it a 40 call limited guns. i have been looking and cannot find a tru-sight barrel. i have found plenty of bull barrels, but i was wanting something extra for this home gun smithing project. i was thinking of getting the Brazos Custom lightning slide. any info would be great. thanks!

STI is the only one making it, if you can't buy it from them you can't get it.

I really like the look of the Brazos holes too, they make for really sharp guns!!

Shoot a 6" before deciding on a gun. There are a couple smiths out there turning out great 6" guns to choose from if you wanted to buy one, or you could build your own if that is what you want to do. I won't shoot a 5" gun anymore, I really believe in the 6" platform.

Don't know if would meet the homologation rules, but you can buy a non ported compensator and cut the dovetail for the front sight. Install that to your barrel. Since we can shoot custom guns that "mimic" factory guns as longs as it was similar to the Tru-sight I would think it to be fine. That is if the non-ported comp was a short one (single chamber). Although I vaguely remember something about not being able to install "add-on" things. Since the Trubor is part of the barrel that may be how it achieves legal status.
