  1. there was a review in Front Sight over the Spartan a while back. it seemed like it worked really well. i have one now, and i really like it. i would have to say that it is imo the best way to get into single stack, especially if you are on a budget. you can install a wilson combat mag well for $20 and you can lighten the trigger if you know how. the fo front sight and nice bomar style sights give it a good feel, and best of all they are uber tight. just my two cents. GTG
  2. thanks for the info, i will look at amending my search for a 20 or 28 ga. gtg
  3. i have one of the old russian Bikail (sp) 12 g. o/u what are the tubes? do they fit full length, or are they just in the chamber?
  4. i am wanting to get my oldest daughter ready for the Olympics! i am shopping for a 410 over and under to start her on. if you have one, or know of a good cheap o/u for a youth please let me know. thanks, GTG
  5. i was looking at buy two holsters and and a scope from opticsplanet all at once, but i cannot find a g34 holster. will the g17 holster fit the 34. if not, please let me know where to shop for kydex holsters. thanks, GTG
  6. picked the Spartan up today, here are the pics of it. it seems very tight and well fitted. will let you know as soon as a pull it apart. i am sure that the info is on here somewhere, but what size fiber optic does this bad boy take?
  7. i am looking at different mags for the spartan, and i was wondering about the wilson combat service mags with the base pad. they are about half the price of the 47s. has anyone used these? are there any suggestions? thanks, GTG
  8. well my spartan is on order. i am getting ready to make some .45's to test it with. will keep you updated. i assume it will be here by friday.
  9. let me state that i had a taurus and fired 20 rounds through it until i just had to have a gun that i should never have bought. that being said, i was wondering about the spartan. have any of you any thoughts on it Vs. the taurus? i want to move from production and i am thinking of purchasing a 1911 this week. i would like to spend the least amount for the most gun. a penny saved is ammo purchased. thanks, gtg
  10. i recently changed some things around and now my 9mm brass out of my G34 is hitting my hat, and has even hit my left shoulder. (right handed even) i assume that it has to do with the 13lb spring and the new 131 pf. any clue on what size spring would stop this or any other ideas would be great. thanks, GTG
  11. i shoot production, and i help a friend reload major 9 for open. his rounds make about 175pf and sound like a 30-06! i would be scared sh*tless if one of those went through my 34. take it or leave it, but if i fired one i would pull every thing that batch.
  12. i went to use me chargemaster for some rifle loads and it did not boot up, but displayed 2009 on the screen. i shut it off and on several times, unplugged and replugged, even unattached it from the dispenser. has anyone ever heard of this problem? i did a search on the website and googled it, but did not find anything. thanks, GTG
  13. thanks, i thought that it would. thanks again, GTG

    guide rod

a friend of mine and i were talking and we have a disagreement. will an after market glock guide rod and spring for a 17 fit a 34? thanks, GTG.
  15. ran across this post while doing a search. i am running 125 grn lead with 3.2 grns of TG. i used the same load with 124 copper washed bullets and just eeeked passed the chrono. i am assuming these will be a tad faster. i have not had any issue as of yet with the stock G34 spring, but a friend suggested i do some research and change it. i think i will try the 13 lb spring, but i was wondering what guide rod do you use with that? thanks, GTG
  16. thank you for all the information. i was wondering what problems the none SJC glocks run into. i was wanting to build a very economical upper that i could slap on top of my production rig to see if i liked it. i dont want to go b*lls to the wall to start with, but have something that i can use for steel and or uspsa. if i can understand the problems with the none SJC set up, using a production lower, i might be able to figure something out, but i dont want to through good money after bad being the guinea pig. if it is going to get too expensive, i have a friend that builds his own s_i's and can go that route. i just dont want to spend too much money. and yes i do squeak when i walk. thanks, GTG
  17. was looking at the fast fire optic. the info on this is great. please keep info up and feel free to pm me on how to go about it. like i said, i want to shoot open for fun and for steel. i have hit b in production and have 10K lead sitting around b4 area 3. i am not going to make a major change, but want to enjoy myself shooting steel minor and uspsa club matches. any pics and what not would be cool. thanks again, GTG
  18. i have been shooting for several years with a guy that runs an open glock. i hate to say it, but the thing never runs for more than 3-4 stages. i am sure that there are open glocks out there that run. i am sure that some of you have them, and i have read about some of them on the forum. my question is, can i take my production 34, buy a slide set up with barrel and comp from lone wolf, and get a glock to run open minor for steel, and change springs to run open major for uspsa? i know that i would have to have mods like a mag well and what not for uspsa, but i am more interested in steel and just playing in uspsa for now while i shoot production. any info on this topic would be great as i have just sold an sti lower and have a burn hole in my pocket and dont want the money to fall out. thanks, GTG
  19. i believe that is it. thanks! have any of you tried it?
  20. a friend told me he saw a powder bar one time that was for a dillon. but the thing had a thumb screw sort of like a redding comp seating die. the idea was to change charges quickly. does anyone know this is or where to find it?
  21. so i, as always, forgot to get polish. i found some Brasso and thought i would try it. i found this thread and saw that someone used it, then saw that some have issue. is it ok to use? matter of opinion? or what? thanks, GTG
  22. ok, so i placed the lock ring under the tool head and ran the u die all the way down the backed it off just a hair. seems to look like it will work on the 650, any other tips/tricks i need to know about?
  23. i guess i have the same question, i just purchased a barrel for my glock to run lead bullets in. i am having issue with the rounds fitting in a case gauge, but not the new barrel. i got a friends u die and re-sized several empty rounds and found that most of them dropped in correctly. my question is that i am picking up most of brass off the range. there are several 9mm open guns and even a few sub guns. are those cases going to size with a u die, or are they just better left alone? also, are there any tricks in setting on in a 650? i just ran it down as far as it would go. it does not touch the shell plate, and that seems rather silly. i would think it should touch the shell plate if it is going to size all the way. should i use the dillion lock ring or what? thanks.
  24. first of all thank you all very much. well, i like a dumb ass was using a kimber prior to ss and got rid of it. the next year ss came to be and i dont want to spend that type of $ due to the fact that the kimber got sloppy on me. i shoot production with a glock atm, and after reading i think i will pick up a spartan and run her like i stole her. i am sure she will shoot bettern' me anyway. i looked at the RIA after reading the post, and while i know that the sights arnt worth $200 the muss and fuss is. correct me if i am wrong, but the spartan has ajd. and fiber sights? also how many mags does it come with?
  25. looked up a search and thought there were some good comments. this is the thread i was looking at, did i miss anything? http://www.brianenos.com/forums/index.php?...rtan&st=250
