Robbie Wheaton Jr
Does anyone make a tap for the Mossberg 935 ultimag with the overbored barrel? I need one for a project I am working on. I am open to purchasing or renting these tools if they are availabe.
HSMITH
Invector Plus tooling will work to choke a shortened barrel that gets rid of the Mossberg factory choking, or to choke a fixed barrel. For what the tools will cost just send the barrel to Simmons Guns in Kansas. They do really good barrel work at good prices.
Robbie Wheaton Jr
The ID of the barrel is about .080 larger than a standard 12ga bore. Will the invector chokes work?
HSMITH
Invector won't, Invector Plus is for a nominal bore of about .742". The 935 is a bit over that, but the lead in portion of the Invector Plus chokes is suitable. You will end up with more constriction than marked on the choke, but just about everything else out there will put you in a proprietary choke system. Call Simmons and talk to them, nice people and they won't blow smoke at you.
