Bob Hostetter
Try about 85gr's of IMR-7828 with a 208gr Hornaday A-Max (Item # 30732) with a 3.530" OAL. Should give you around 2930 fps out of a 26" barrel. Worked good for me, except the recoil is pretty stout.............
John Dunn
My pet load has to remain unpublished, it was put out by a major reloading outfit (Sierra IIRC), then they sent out a warning that it was an overpressure load and not to use it. Gee, thanks. I had 500 rds loaded at that point. I still shot them (pushed a 190 SMK @3400fps) and stuck with that load till that barrel was toast (around 1200 rds). When I rebarreled the gunsmith shortened the throat up a bit, when I reseated the bullets a little deeper with the same load the primer pockets started to loosen. Haven't really messed with it much lately as I switched to 6 XC.
