What Can I Do To My Glock And Still Be In The Production Class?

Getting bumped to open for grip tape forward of the ejection port is a little worse than nit-picky. Rules are rules, but damn, we have to pay for this. The only reason it was enforced is because it was open\pro nats...that was an eagle-eye RO, prolly looking for fun stuff like that.

I've seen people bumped to open from production at the Nats before --- and it was worse because Open was not a recognized division at the Factory Gun Nats......

How about skateboard tape on the bottoms of factory base pads?

New thing to consider w/ the new rulebook for 2008 - 3# minimum trigger, so ultra or semi light triggers from Charlie, Ralph or Dale will be under the limit. I'm hoping to swap a few springs in my kit from Ralph to edge the wt. up, but that'll probably force me to upspring from the 11# ISMI recoil springs I'm using w/ my current load :(

I asked Amidon about that before this year's Nats. His reply, paraphrased, was that the only mentioned for Production magazine basepads was no weight adding attachments, and that he couldn't see how grip tape would fit that definition ---- i.e. the no weight adding attachments clause was written to prevent things like brass basepads, not to prevent skateboard tape....
