Religious Shooter
What's the fastest and also safe way of disengaging the safety on an M1A with the run of the mill starts (low-ready, port-arms, ...) that you see in 3 gun? Also my M1A's safety needs a lot of force to engage and disengage. Can I stone the safety a little to make it easier to turn on/off and still be safe? Overkill
I'd just work it on and off for a while. Seems like they all start out a little stiff and loosten up after a while.
hopalong
R.S. For finger position on the Port arms, low ready type starts. (for me) Safety on, rifle in starting position. Finger is on the stock just above the trigger. At the buzzer shoulder the rifle while finding sights, once sights are found and are where you want to shoot it is no problem to knock it off safe and fire and get the 2 Alpha we all know we are supposed to shoot. And the safety on my Scout squad was pretty hard, squirt you some Remoil down in it so it slides a little easier......it will get better in time( mine did on all my M1 and M1As). Hope that helps.
