chad allred
I am about to start my 9mm conversion project so I would love to have some of your"Expert" imput!I am starting with my P-14 lda bottom end because it has had extensive trigger work and I am having real good luck and shooting some pretty good scores with it.I am thinking a STI slide and a Nowlin barrel? What do you think? Jon Merricks
I wish I had mine in front of me so I could look, but I don't think a regular slide will work. I can't recall but I thought there were some special cuts for the saftey or trigger on the slide. Maybe Salior will chime in, I hear he is real handy with LDA's. jjanglin
regular slide will not work unless you do some pretty fancy welding to it ,Best bet is to have brownells special order you a 9mm slide,Para themselves Ive found to be terrible to deal with,Tha John Westerfield who is head of sales is a reall dandy.!!! bountyhunter
Ditto, the slide that mates with an LDA has some special cuts and also the firing pin blocking safety stuff is not "1911 standard". Might be cheaper to get a 9mm barrel made that drops into your existing slide..... or just buy the complete top end for a 9mm Para LDA. In most cases, buying a new top end from a manufacturer costs more than a good used gun of the same incarnation.....
