wolfie40cal Posted May 19, 2006 Author Share Posted May 19, 2006 The new style extractor has very sharp edges on the end of the star. Go for a jammed speedloader, and say hello to blood. The old extractor had a groove and spline on the shaft. There was very little side to side play on the star. That coupled with the little pins led to very tight extractor to cylinder lockup. On the new design, if the edges of the extractor wear, the extractor can be pushed by the hand, but not rotate the cylinder into lockup. They have taken a combat proven design, and cocked it up for cheaper manufacture. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
cking Posted May 22, 2006 Share Posted May 22, 2006 OK, I just used a cratex on dremel and cleaned mine up. Also hit the back edge with stone. so that even if I lower it slowly inducing a twist the taper on backside lets it drop into place. Also polished the shaft of extractor, mine was very rough.
