Armando Q
Hi folks. How much should the rear blade on a SW wiggle? I noticed that on two of my revolvers the rear blades wiggle. If I touch them, I can move it minutely. My initial reaction is to say there should no movement but I just noticed that both of my sw's do the same thing. Perhaps I bumped both of them. Thanks Armando
R112mercer
I checked three guns with factory rear sights and all three had some degree of movement, some more than others. I think it's normal and shouldn't be an issue, as long as it returns to it's original position your zero shouldn't be affected. That is, unless you're talking about a Model 10. Then rear sight wiggle is a problem. Edited January 5, 2006 by R112mercer
Mooney
I had some play in my factory rear sight (new model 625) but it worked fine, although I got a great deal on a Millet rear assembly and now use that instead. It should be OK, unless you want to upgrade...
Armando Q
Thanks folks - they work just fine. I was just comparing them to my Ruger, which has a rock solid leaf. I didn't know if anything was wrong. Apparently they S&W's are supposed to be that way.
