38superman
STI is advertising their Tactical Adjustable Sight on their website. I would really like to have one of these on my Para P9-18 LDA. However, I do have some concerns. Is it height compatible with a Dawson F.O. front sight? Novak tells me that Para made my model gun with two different cuts for the rear sight. Mine measures .365 across the base. Does anybody have any experience yet with this sight? If so, what are your impressions? Tls
c-rum
I have installed one on a Springfield recently it when on with minor fitting I put a .200 high DP FO front sight on it for proper POA/POI. The owner if very happy with the setup. I still have at least one of the STI Tactical Adjustable sight left drop me an email if you need one or if I can answer any fitting questions for you. jeff@c-rums.net Jeff
Brazos Custom
It is not going to fit in your cut if it is 0.365. It is the same dovetail as the stock Novak fixed 0.495 by 65 degree. Chuck Anderson
Any ideas what front sights we can use with this? Is it too high to use standard fronts?
Brazos Custom
Height of the rear blade when adjusted all the way down is the same as a stock Novak fixed rear. If you want some adjustment go a little higher than your present front sight. For new builds I think a 0.175 high will work for a round top slide and 0.200 for a flat top slide. 38superman
Bob, Thanks for your input. As stated, my Para has a .365 cut as best I could measure it with a dial caliper. If I send you my slide, is there any reason you couldn't mill the cut larger and fit the sight? Tony - A51235
