Dunno how comfortable you are with stuff like this, but I had mine out (on my 391) to put the tactical latch on the field gun I was using for three gun, and it wasn't that difficult.  There might be a pebble or some other debris in there, or perhaps a bent or broken spring.  If a piece of shot got up in there it would act just like it is acting. 😀

I'm fine with tearing it down if it's a basic system.

I was thinking look for a video on the bolt release replacement and go from there.

I've been busy mounting and swapping scopes for a new rifle so

I'll try to get in there today and see what I've got.

I appreciate the input.

There has to be something in there, or something bent.

No one said they put the trigger group in it right from the factory. Pull the trigger group, push the shell release in while reinserting the trigger group and give it a try. While you have the trigger group out look for any foreign junk. It is easy to do, and takes almost no time at all!

I will. I've been working on a new rifle I received the same day I got the Beretta. It obviously needs a tear down and inspection. And me familiarizing myself with it.

Thanks again for the info.

Thanks Nolan. I kinda threw this on the back burner for a few days.

I'm trying to get a new rifle set up for spring bear season.

I do appreciate the help.

I'm sure it's something minor.

I'll try to get to this by the weekend and let you know what, or if I find something obvious.

I tore it down today and was going to remove the latch system.

I got to the point of removing the flipper for the latch (to pull it out of the frame) and got kinda stumped.

There isn't a screw or pin on this Gen II release lever ?

I reefer on the plastic cover to slide it off but it didn't want to budge.

I was trying to slide it forward off the lever.

I can't find anything online about the Gen II removal.

Has anyone removed this Gen II system ?

I think I remember it just snapping on, maybe tap it with a punch to pop it loose.  If it gets damaged they are cheap and available:

Beretta A400 Xtreme Plus, 1301 Tactical & A300 Ultima Cartridge Latch Cover: MGW (midwestgunworks.com)

I'll try that. I did take it out and put about 100 rounds through it.

Other than having to really get the shells in the tube it ran without a hiccup.

Light field loads to hot 00.

I like it alot compared to the 930 SPX.

Thanks for all the help everyone.

Did you ever figure out how to solve the issue? I have a new 1301 and am experiencing the exact same issue.
