38 Super Build on A Tisas 1911 DB9

Put a Tisas Duty in 9mm on layaway with the end goal of doing a 38 Super build. Not looking to do anything fancy. Went this route instead of an entry level Fusion or Colt already in the 38 Super so I'd have the additional 9mm setup.

Looking forward at reading through the threads and getting any input on the conversion. Already reached out to the company to clarify how they cut the frame and learned they use the Wilson/Nowlin ramp cut. Will be collecting parts over the next few months and getting the gun itself shipped to my FFL.

I built out an idpa gun for carry optics on a tisas duty 1911 in 9mm.    I’ve been very happy with it considering the small amount of money I’ve put into it.   Replaced all the internals. Only thing that’s still factory is the grip safety, slide, frame and barrel.  I’ve shot well over 5000 rounds through it in the past 3 or 4 months without issue.

If you want regular-old-38 Super, make sure the slide breech face is wide enough for the semi-rim.  Lots of 9's are built on .38S/.40 sized breechfaces and work ok, but if it's the 9-specific size that will create extra work, or a change of plans to .38 Supercomp.
