A33435
A relative new shooter at my club has bougth a second hand, but almost new open gun, he wants to use it in essence for steelshooting It is a Briley "El Presidente" built on Caspian frame. Are there people using a similar weapon for the same purpose? If so would you share your recipe for loads? VV is obtainable here (he has some 3N37, 3N38 and 9 mm 124 gr PRVI bullets) We welcome any info about experiences with the Briley El Presidente. Thanks for sharing, Greetings Adrie
shred
I have an old Briley El Prez built on an SV frame. The only thing I found to watch for was the comp baffles are thin and will wear fast with lots of slow powder. For steel shooting, I'd go with small amounts of faster powder.. maybe N320 at about 1100 fps, but a reduced load (say, the VV book starting load) using 3N37 will get him started just fine.
