NotAnATFAgent
Hey Guys, I'm new to this forum, just started shooting USPSA CO this past September. I picked up a bone stock CZ S2 (optics ready) and have only put about 3500rds through it so far with daily (30min) dry fire practice. I was at the range yesterday and fired ~300 rounds and when I got back home I noticed that the trigger pin was walking out on the left-hand side about 1-2mm. I tapped it back in but now I'm wondering: - Is this common / non-issue or does it warrant replacing it? - Any preventative maintenance of parts I should consider? I've heard of some issues with the trigger return spring breaking after ~5k or so rounds - I have zero "gunsmithing" experience apart from slapping together an AR with some parts kits... how difficult would you say installing the CWG 75820 Pro-Package is on a scale of 1 (very easy) to 5 (send it to CWG, dummy)? Thanks!
Sig
Replace it with a floating trigger pin from CGW. Get a reduced trigger return spring while you're at it. Edit: I just saw the question about the pro package. Not very hard to do. Go slow & take before pics with your phone. It's a 2 on your scale. Thanks! Pin already coming out? Perfect! Usually it's staked lightly on both sides to prevent it from walking, but you almost have to demolish it to get it out when you have to replace the Trigger Return Spring. I would rate installing the Pro-Package a 3. It's not terribly difficult, plenty of Youtube Videos and posts here to guide you. Just be patient, have all the tools and parts ready, and give yourself plenty of time.
NotAnATFAgent
Thanks, Sig & Souper... I just pulled the trigger on the pro-package & the starter punch. Just in time before the season starts back up in March
Lightj75
You will really enjoy the pro package and if you're anything like me also love/hate the install. Also don't forget to polish the internals while you're in there.

I shouldn't have said hate it was frustrating I guess mainly because of things I did like letting the trigger spring fly off into oblivion or being cheap and not buying the starter punch and using what I had on hand. It is alot of fun to do though kinda like Legos if you follow one of the many guides I believe I used the one on this forum by Professor Atlas along with videos from CGW and YouTube. If you run into any problems you're welcome to message me I can try to help or you can call CGW directly and talk to a gunsmith that will walk you through any part you're having trouble with. Thanks man, I appreciate it. I bought the starter punch and watched a few videos yesterday to prep. The kit should be arriving tomorrow, so I've got a good after dinner activity. Wish me luck! NotAnATFAgent
Just updating for posterity's sake - the long and short of it is that I installed all of the parts, took a little longer than expected but overall it was fine. I'd rate the difficulty for a novice like myself, on a scale of 1-5, about a 2.5 I used the S-2 upgrade kit with reach reduction - parts # 75820 installed in a Shadow 2 optics ready Some general tips / tricks that I found useful: Buy the starter punch or else you'll be fighting the hammer pins more than necessary Have red & blue locktite on hand Have acetone (and q-tips) on hand to degrease the set screws and the various parts that you're taking out of your gun Have a needle nose plier to install the trigger return spring and the sear spring I don't think there is any youtube video or guide out there that covers what to do with the sear spacer that comes with the kit but it's pretty straight forward and self explanatory... it goes in the sear pack right next to the adjustable sear, held by the sear pin. I used a punch like a slave pin to hold everything together Overall, it took about 2.5hrs from start to finish, including time to completely strip the gun, clean / degrease every part (a lot of time spent on using a toothbrush to get all the dead skin out of the lok brass grips), reassemble, and tune the sear & trigger set screws. If you're more experienced than me, you can probably fly through it much faster. Edited January 28, 2022 by NotAnATFAgent
