  1. Jacketed or lead? Alloys with high antimony content have been said to grow in diameter over time.

    S2 Hammer spring life

I'd clean & lightly lube the firing pin & channel first, then recheck it for light strikes.
  3. Could it be a kinetic puller & the bullets are bouncing up & hitting the case mouth?
  4. Replace it with a floating trigger pin from CGW. Get a reduced trigger return spring while you're at it. Edit: I just saw the question about the pro package. Not very hard to do. Go slow & take before pics with your phone. It's a 2 on your scale.
  5. I haven't found a need for it in 40. I'm using the U die with my 9mm jacketed as I wasn't getting enough neck tension with Federal & Blazer brass.
  6. Try using Hornady Sure-Loc-Rings. They don't slip & you won't bugger up your die threads with set screws. 1. Set you die. 2. Tighten nut to bushing. 3. Tighten split ring cross screw.
  7. I've been running my first LNL AP for about 10 years & have been very happy(I thought). I read about this & said what the heck as I do get a minor amount of powder spillage. I ordered 10 of these on Feebay for $3.10 shipped from China. I really didn't care if it took 2 months to get her but to my surprise I received them in a week. I installed one lightly coated with lanolin as per the OP's instructions. I found the rotation much smoother. I did however notice the shell plate had more drag & didn't quite index far enough on the downstroke. I turned the left side pawl out a tiny bit at a time until the alignment was perfect. I then drove the detents in a touch(I had backed the detents out previously to mitigate powder spillage). I have since runoff about 800 rounds of 40 S&W with next to no powder spillage. I'd like to thank the OP for sharing this. I found the O rings here: https://www.ebay.com/itm/Ø2-5mm-Cross-Section-Black-Nitrile-Rubber-NBR-O-Ring-Gasket-Oil-Sealing-Washers/174310594026?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&var=473408395736&_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649 I'm new here & I know some sites prohibit Ebay links. If that's the case, Mods please remove the link.
  8. Hi everyone, I've been reading & learning here for probably a couple of years now. Needless to say there's a wealth of information to be had here. I hope to be able to contribute. I live in Wrong Island NY. I've been shotgun & rifle since the 80's & handguns for the last 12 years. About a year or so ago my wife, son & I started doing some steel challenges & local USPSA competitions. That's how I stumbled upon this site. I reload for everything I shoot except for .22 of coarse. I currently have 2 LNL AP's with case feeders, a RCBS Ammo Master 2 & a Mec Grabber along with Star & Lyman lube sizers. I'm hoping my supplies hold me over until ammo & components become available at close to pre-covid prices. I'm also a hardcore fisherman. Everything from dry flies to offshore trolling. My goal is if I'm not working, is to be shooting, fishing or reloading.
