Help/Hindrance of cowitness sights?

That is me. Will dryfire two weeks keeping my head up then I hear the buzzer, and bam, back to tactical turtle status. 

 

As for the back up iron question, I guess the irons/dot combo is probably the main thing. Went from an RMR with irons to a SRO with no irons and that was almost a night and day difference in terms of being able to pick up the dot halfway fast. ( when i keep my head up of course )
