standles
Thought this might be of use to some folks. 9/20 ERML Range 4PM 91 Degrees F Kimber Custom Gold Combat II RL Hogdon Titegroup CCI 300 Large Pistol Primers 1.225 OAL / .470 Taper Crimp 200gr LCWS Valiant Bullets 20 shot strings NOTES: Had several failure to feeds. Rounds jammed in the bbl hood. Almost always as the last round in the Wilson Magazine. Fellow shooter was shooting the same bullet/ poweder combo and ran 2 mags of his ammo through my gun with no failures. Difference in ammo was his OAL was 1.250". Rerun chosen loads with OAL at 1.250 to verify feeding. Enjoy, Steven UPDATE on OAL problem Ran 50 rounds at OAL 1.250 but still had 4 failure to feeds on last round in magazine. Ran 50 Rounds at 1.265 OAL and had perfect feeding. Also this OAL increased the accuracy noticeably even though I didn't measure it out. Just from eyeballing the targets. So..... 1.265 it is Steven Edited September 26, 2005 by standles
DougCarden
Steven, many moons ago I had the same feed problems, ran the 200swc out to 1.250 or more on the long side, no problems since. I actually leave the seater set the same for 230lrn and 200swc, works just fine for both. You might want to run the crimp to .469 and see how that works as well. Patrick Sweeney
When in doubt, do what the gun wants. It wants long ammo, load long.
