harley45 Posted July 28, 2005 Share Posted July 28, 2005 I use hs6 for ball duplicate and +p type loads and it fills the case to the level you are looking for. I don't think it is any dirtier than anything else out there at higher loadings but at lower loadings it does seem to leave some unburned flakes. iweiny Posted July 28, 2005 Share Posted July 28, 2005 Right now I am happy with 5.2gr of VV n320 under a 230gr Montana Gold. I have thrown 2 charges in a case to measure the powder faster and it is pretty much to the top of the case. I would have to really be asleep to get a double. Clays is the same way. i think you can still get two powdercharges of any modern smokeless propellant in a 45 case so you really cant rely on the powder to prevent a double charge.
