There is only one particularly active sanctioned USPSA club in North Alabama. That club is Rocket City Practical Shooters. They shoot at Cavern Cove range in Woodville, AL. There are a couple other places to shoot "practical pistol", but not sanctioned by USPSA at this time. Could also use the USPSA match finder tool.
