Oleg
Hi there. I noticed that after 100 or so rounds I'm getting a headache so I started looking for some recoil reduction system. Was wondering if anyone have tried Compstock by Hogue or any others? Is there any use of barrel porting for climb reduction? Thanks in advance. Regards. Oleg. ErikW
Hogue donated some for the Bay Bridge charity match last year and one of the locals won one for an 870. I heard this secondhand, but it supposedly cuts down shoulder recoil so much it makes max. slugs feel like light trap loads. Switch to light trap loads in your pump gun unless you have to take down long-range steel. Otherwise you just don't need 3 3/4 DRAM hunting loads. An automatic really helps, too. Nik Habicht
I've got one on an old Mossberg 500. It does a decent job of reducing felt recoil. The difference is akin to the difference between a 3 in. express slug and a 2.75 tactical reduced recoil slug.
