Remove the upper from frame, get one of the small L shaped pins out of the small plastic bag, grab the compensator with your weak hand and pull the barrel with it like you are trying to pull it out of the front of the slide which will compress the recoil spring on the rod, (Or use your thumb to push barrel out the front) pull it out as far as it will go, then you will see a small hole on the recoil spring rod, insert the L shaped pin to lock the spring and rod together with the spring fully compressed, then remove the recoil rod and spring assembly, then push the barrel back into battery so you can unscrew the compensator easier, once it is removed you can remove the barrel.
