1911vm
I know it would look strange but has any one ever tried to cut a standard dove tail for the front sights? like one for a 1911 to make sight options much bigger. Thanks
xdr
Not exactly what you are asking, but my son had his P10 milled for carry optics and then a glock dovetail cut behind the optic to use his favorite sight.

Thanks Well you would have the issue of the remainder of the original dovetail. Also, the front sight pin also keeps the front sight and the bushing from wandering unless you have an accu shadow bushing. Unless you are looking for nightsights, Dawson and CZC have a large number of options for the front sight.
