Shadow 2 mag release in Tactical Sport Orange

I found the TSO mag release to be a bit too long for my liking.  So I ordered a Shadow 2 release to see if it would fit/work.

• Good news- The Shadow 2 mag release will fit into the TS
• Bad news- TS mags cannot be inserted with the S2 mag release installed
• Interesting note: With the S2 mag release installed, standard CZ mags will lock in place and drop.  My CZ mags worked perfectly. While my MecGar mags would insert/drop, they frequently hung up during insertion.  I noticed that the design of the MecGar's is a bit different than the CZs, see below

 

The  Shadow 2 mag release is a bit narrower internally, which prevents TS mags from being inserted.  I imagine if one were determined enough, they could grind enough material from the S2 mag release to make it work.  Given the  effort involved for that, I would just grind the existing TS mag release button.

Good post, thanks. I was thinking about trying to put my TS mag release on my S2.
