rjkelso
Has anybody ever used a recoil spring made for a 1911 in their SIG 226? I noticed that on the GG site they use a 15b 1911 recoil spring in the 320. I'm using a 12lb spring right now and wonder if a lighter spring might feel better but I can't find a spring lighter than 12lbs. So I wonder if a 10-11lb 1911 spring (possibly cut down) would be a possibility. Your thoughts? Thanks
rjkelso
Never mind I found some. But thanks.
JAFO
Keep in mind that if you go too low on your recoil spring weight, you risk increasing the battering of your slide against the locking block. Are you using light handloads?

JAFO
Unlike the 320, most people don't consider the 226 to be oversprung. I actually use a heavier spring in mine (when I can get them from GGI) for 136PF loads. Otherwise, I use factory weight. To each his own, but just keep an eye on the wear in case you end up too light.
