Does Your Slide Lock Work ?

Recommended Posts

Hey Bob- Thanks for the details. I ground mine off for a couple of those reasons. I just can't put it into a nice detailed summary like you. Having some of the top smiths in the buisiness visiting is one of the big reasons that I hang out here.

Thanks! :D

I want my slide lock to work everytime. Open, Limited, it doesn't matter. No matter what class of shooter we are, we are not perfect. While it is true, if you run dry without knowing it, you have screwed yourself in the stage, but it ain't over till the fat lady sings. Why would I want to drop the hammer on an empty chamber, before reliazing that I miscounted and shot my 29 round mag dry. When my slide locks back, I know I need to change mags, and know that I am fixing the problem the fastest way posible. My guns have slide locks that have been tuned to work properly, and yes, every gun needs attention of some kind to make the slide lock work properly. It does take time, just like fitting safeties or triggers.
