EasyTargetRN
Headed to northern NM this Thursday for the Balloon Fiesta/vaca/advanced scouting for a move in the next 3 years. Have a friend who was a locum tenens there so I've got the choice places to eat down for the 4 days. Looking to scout the Sandia Rio Rancho suburbs and the obvious question is what ranges should I scope out while I'm there? No intent to shoot, just to get a feel for what a free state looks like after 25 years in NY. Edited September 26, 2016 by EasyTargetRN

West mesa They will be hosting a major match while you are there 2016 High Desert Classic 10/6-9/2016 Del Norte Shooting Range: Way out of the way and not open to the public Shoots IDPA and other types but no USPSA Los Lunas Gun Club: About 20 miles south of Albuquerque, club members only but open to outsiders for IDPA matches Zia Rifle and Pistol club South of air port. Private club but good people (haven' there for a number of years since USPSA moved to Albuq shooting range) Enjoy your stay and the Balloon Fiesta Arlin

Jammer1911
Welcome Easy. I am the New Mexico Section coordinator and have been in NM for 16 years. As a former Cheektowaga, NY resident I can tell you that once I moved I have decided this is way better than the Socialist Republic of NY. Albuquerque holds a GREAT Level II during the Balloon Fiesta (High Desert Classic). It is a topnotch match. If you are still in town the 7th -9th you should come out and see the match live. EasyTargetRN
Thanks Mark, we had to head home on Tuesday but I did have a chance to visit Calibers on Coors and rent an M4. I told my wife about the DC and she asked why we didn't schedule another couple days. I love my wife!Looking forward to our next visit and eventual relocation. xdr
The Calibers on Coors holds indoor fun matches 2 times/month. Well worth trying next time you are in town. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
