mvslay
I built up a new load at around 170 PF. Previous I had been using WWB .45 ACP. My gun was flawless with WWB although I was not. I had a a feed hiccup today. I started a tap, rack, bang and the feed issue cleared with just a tap. I know I need to replace the mag springs and they are on order. My question is this. Do I need to lighten my recoil spring to compensate for the lower PF rounds? My understanding is that a lighter spring will let the slide stay back longer and give the Mag a little more time to feed. I've got a stock 16lb Wolf in it right now.
js1130146
Is this for a 1911? I run my loads at approx. 175 PF with a 12 lb spring and shock buff in my Trojan, but I have also used a 14 lb spring with no buff. Springs are cheap, I would start with a 14 and go lighter from there until you find the right feel and reliability.
Ddipert
The "tap" was the slide almost in battery? Or was the round not stripped from the mag leaving the slide almost at slide lock?
