Sparky
Got a new (to me) STI 40sw with an STI barrel. I was using West Coast 200gr bullets and Vit N320 with a 169 pf in my previous gun. However, my new pistol does not like the West Coast (keyhole) and I've switched to Zero 200 gr bullets. In doing so I've had to jack up the powder charge .4 grs to make the same pf. I have two shooting buddies that are experienced and are now shooting Clays with Zero bullets. They are loading them out to 1230. I loaded some reducing their charge by .2 grs. I chronographed today and they made a 168 pf (oal 1215). The primers only showed a slight amount of pressure. Just curious if anyone else has tried Clays? EricW
$2400 reasons why Clays under a 200 gr. bullet is an exceedingly bad idea: Hodgdon does not list a load for 200 gr and Clays in 40. Please use some personal wisdom, ignore your buddies, and choose a safe load. Universal Clays will yield a safe load.
