Slide eggs was my failed attempt at humor, sigh, but yes they are milled from square stock. I honestly can't remember if the regular Shadow is done the same.

Something else that is interesting, much like Detroit used to do with engine blocks, CZ ages their barrel blanks. The round bar stock is left outside for up to 1.5 years before being machined. The first operation being the removal of the rust layer, then boring then hammer forging. The boring and hammer forging runs are super cool, with the new hammer forge being rather quite.
