How to reassembly a 2 piece sear

Recommended Posts

Had to replace a broken sear spring, now having trouble reassembly it. Anyone know of any how to videos.

Thanks

Rich

I tried and after I put them back together I started having strange problems. You could search all my posts in this forum and see the trouble I went through.

The best solution, which I took, is to buy a one piece sear and put into the housing. It not only eliminated all my problems but also reduced the DA and SA pulls by half pound.

I still don't understand why Stock 2s have 2 piece sears while Lim Pros have 1 piece sear out of factory.

Cut a q-tip and use it as a slave pin.

I do it the same way B) I do admit to having gone to the one piece sear, but I had the two piece out 3 or 4 times, and don't remember it being that hard to get back in with the q-tip slave pin method. With the two piece you also get that slight increase in trigger pressure when the sear lifter spring starts compressing which basically lets you know right before the trigger is going to break in da which was kind of nice.

The spring should be completely nested inside of the lifter. As long as the sear and lifter fit into the sear housing you should be good. If I remember there is a little notch, you have to tension the spring a little bit and secure it under the notch on the lifter...
