igolfat8
I installed a Bushnell TRS-25 Red Dot on my M3000. I tried sighting it in on paper at 10, 15 and 20 yards but couldn't read the center of the pattern very well. Is it logical to think that I could sight the dot in with slugs and would the shot pattern center be very similar POI as the slugs?
openclassterror
Sight in with slugs, typ zeroed at 50, and know your holds from 10 to 100. The pattern may not be perfectly centered, but will be within the dispersion pattern. Find the lowest possible mounting method for your red-dot, and make sure it can be removed quickly or co-witnesses your bead in case the battery or electronics fail during a match
GunCat
I agree. Sight in the dot using slugs with a similar velocity as your shot shells and you’ll have the shot patterns close enough to POA to do the job.
