Just some FYI data, I was out of powder and found some Nitro 100 NF so I took a chance and this is what I found. The data might be a bit confusing, 5 rounds shot from 2 different 5in 1911's same day, same chrono with different style schuemann barrels. All projectiles where Xtreme 230gn RN loaded to 1.24 OAL, mixed range brass with federal primers.

3.5gn AET barrel

677.6 FPS, 155.8 PF SD 6.95

3.5gn Classic barrel

708 FPS, 162.8 PF SD 9.27

3.9gn AET barrel

722 FPS, 166 PF, SD 13.61

3.9gn Classic Barrel

752 FPS, 173 PF, SD 28.24

4.3gn AET Barrel

761FPS, 175 PF, SD 6.28

4.3gn Classic Barrel

807 FPS, 185.6 PF, SD.25

My Data, your risk if you trust it.

I go a little faster with the burning rate with 4.9 solo 1000. I don't have my notebook in front of me but it does make major with a 230gr plated at 170pf. Very consistent, very clean.

I don't have a lot of experience with different powders, it is far from the N 320 I'm used too. I used tite group for a while and that would be the closest I've used to Nitro 100 NF. I was a little nervous about how little I needed but so far after about a 1000 rounds of 45 I have not really noticed a pressure different while shooting, pretty consistent round to round. Seems to shoot pretty clean but it does leave a little soot around the end of the barrel like tite group

Just a little follow up on this post. After reading all the post about how AET barrels don't like plated bullets I went to the range and did a little more testing. I agree, at 20 or so feet with the major load above I could barely keep the group inside a paper plate. I switched over to some old Montana gold loads I had, the group drop to less than 2 inchs (10 rounds one big hole). At minor power loads the groups were around 3-4 inches. I also shot some old Rainer loads and they grouped even worse than the X-tremes. I guess my take home point, if you spent the money on a AET barrel buy jacketed ammo.
