Justin C.
I have been reloading 45 ACP RN 230 gr bullets with VV N320. I have acquired 1000 Rainier 200 gr HP bullets to use when the present supply of RN bullets is gone. I will be reloading with the same powder. I have gone to the VV website for reloading data and they do not list 200 gr HP bullets, only 200 gr FMJ-CT bullets. Those are the Hornady Combat Target or something like that I would guess. I would like to know if their listed data would be OK to use with the 200 gr rainier HP bullets. Please excuse the simple nature of the question since it is from a new reloader. danman00
I do not have load info for 200 gr but generally, it takes more of a powder charge to punch FMJ's down a barrel than plated bullets (ie:Raniers) so that load would probably be too hot. If you can't find any better load data, I'd start with a lesser charge, possibly .5 gr less than the FMJ data. Be careful though.
ghost21
I use the same powder charge for plated bullets I do for Lead cast bullets. I am loading N340 and some N320. But as danman said, start with a lesser charge and work up slow and be CAREFULL!
