thumb safety

Some of you older 1911 guys will probably know what I'm talking about. Are the "lowered' Gunsite single sided thumb safeties legal in USPSA single stack division? I have one and love it, and I see it no more as an advantage than any other "legal" modification that is allowed, such as: upswept memory groove grip safety, extended mag catches and buttons and paddles, huge gaping magwells...etc...etc...etc.

I have short fingers (and thumbs) and when I use this (lowered) thumb safety I can actuate the grip safety without disabling it. The high thumb shooting position is so much easier, too.

I look at this as not an advantage, but a playing field leveler for those of us with freakishly short fingers and small hands.

Thanks for any info and/or input.
