speedjunkiesracing
Hey got a 9mm Trojan ramped barrel upper for free. Was going to do a 1911 lower build but why not a 2011 lower????? If I got the STI 2011 5" Tactical, Steel, Ramped frame kit? Sorry had to edit. Fit frame to slide. Install 9mm extractor and the rest of the lower parts. Then some mags. Should be GTG. Thanks Edited December 14, 2014 by speedjunkiesracing
entropic
I would think it would be no problem to fit the new frame's barrel contact surfaces to the upper you have.
2MoreChains
The cuts on the end of the Trojan's slide may not match up to the end of the 2011 Tactical's dust cover unless you have it milled back. But other than that, 1911 and 2011's use the same slide/upper parts. Why not indeed?
speedjunkiesracing
Crap yes it will probably be easier to get the standard length dust cover.
2MoreChains
Do you really need / want the rail? I've seen some custom work where the GS started with a STI 2011 wide frame, cut it to the length desired then milled in the rail.
