Brassaholic13
Anyone know where to get a better collator than the Dillon? I know at one point I saw a collator that had a ring of what looked like nails on the inside, facing at about a 60 degree angle clockwise. Each "nail" picked up a shell mouth first and when it spun around would drop it into a tube. Sort of like the way a Hornady bullet collator drops bullets. The Dillon uses a 4 RPM motor, and will do about 2400 rounds per hour. I need something faster, and I don't think that increasing the RPM of the Dillon will work, as each shell needs a "dwell" time to drop.
Brassaholic13
Just checked with Ammoload... Theirs will do 7200/hr, but they're too proud of it. $3900.00.
southwindva
Run a tandem Dillion collator and then design a 'Y' connector on the drop tube that won't jam. Or maybe a larger drop funnel area to give the case more time to drop at a higher RPM.
Kaskillo
Tandem collators sounds like a good idea.
DougCarden
Find a used MA Systems Collator. That is what is on most commercial machines like Camdex. Much cheaper than Ammoload, but really ....what isn't....LOL DougC
jmorris
I built a real big one for my brass sorter. Other than time and a set collar to make a "clutch" out of it was free. Start around :39 into this video. It will collate a 5 gallon bucket full in 15 min. http://vid121.photobucket.com/albums/o213/jmorrismetal/sorterhopper.mp4 Edited December 6, 2014 by jmorris
