rfoil007
I can not find the Max 1911 in 40cal but the 45 are all over here. I was woundering if you can buy the 45 and put a 40cal barrel in the gun. Some say yes a round town and some say no. Who is right? I ready to shoot 40cal now. Higgins
1911's in 40 cal are often trouble even when in original factory configuration. I'm guessing you are asking for trouble.
sschultz
I know a bunch of people who use 1911 40s for single stack with no issue.
Higgins
I'm sure people put me in that same category. However, I have had two and I ended up sending them both to Virgil Tripp to get them to run reliably.
TimH
I shoot a .45 Sig Max. As for a .40, they are still advertised as available in .40, however Sig hasn't produced a .40 copy yet I do love my Sig Max!
greyhounder
Basically you would need a whole slide assembly and send it out to be fitted. Same complaint waited a year and two thirds after ordering one and finally gave up and ordered the Sig Match Elite in 40. The price difference covers the cost of the upgrades to it to equal the Max,except I didn't go for the flat trigger not that impressed by it. Not supposed to complain here but not do not believe the Max in 40 will ever see the light of day. BTW the Elite runs with no problems use sig and tripp 40 magazine.
