dghboy315
i've also had great luck w/ dells. the last laptop i got from dell was refurbished and therefore was $400 under their new prices. basically, refurbished computers are computers that were built for but never bought by the customer. some are returned, but apparently, most are never sent to the customer b/c the customer changed their mind. according to dell employees, it is where all the staff pick up their computers. if you decide on a dell, don't forget to check out their refurbished computers. Zak Smith
At work we just got IBM T42p's and I couldn't be happier (except they force us to use XP instead of Linux). -z
Scooter
So I've been doing a lot of research. For the system that I want, there's not much difference in price between buying one ready to go and building one myself. Here's what I'm looking at: 15-17 screen Pentium 4-3.4 1 gig RAM min, will probably go with 2 gigs 256mb video card 100mb hard drive DVD/CDRW So far everyone's prices have been around $2900-$3300.
