CANDERSEN
Years ago I use to shoot a Beretta 92D - I shot it farily well. was thinking of picking up another one. Does anyone else have "strong" feelings about this system. To me it felt like shooting a double action revolver.
bountyhunter
I like it OK. It is similar to a DA revolver, trigger pull is in the 9 - 10# range. If I was to use a Ber 92 for carry or defense, I would opt for the DAO version so the trigger pull was the same each time.
CANDERSEN
If I remember correctly ...it was pretty east to convert a FS model to double action only, I think it was a matter of removing the sear and putting in a D hammer spring.

I convert mine to DAO with a second hammer that I milled off the full cock notch. Brownells used to sell the military "parts kits" for the M9 that had virtually every internal part in it for about $20 so I had a spare hammer. Hammer takes about 20 seconds to change, the sear is harder.
CANDERSEN
Back in the day, I also had a Beretta 92DS (I think that was the designation). double action only but still retaining the manual safety. If I build a new gun with all of the upgrades that are available now (dovetail front sight, fiber optic, light mount rail etc) I may build one for my next project.
