ede
Wanting to make a load to try for Steel with a .38 Spl case and 95gr. Bayou Bullet. I'm thinking Bullseye 3.0 to 3.2 grains. Anyone with experience loading this or similar?
ede
If this hits on a search I ended up with 4.2gr. of Bullseye. Started with 3.5 and the primer backed out and never reseated. 4.2 is loud but next to zero recoil.
DougCarden
You may have a light poofer on the draw due to pushing the gun up fast due to the large case volume due and the low charge. Just experiment until you get enough to set the round off on the draw DougC
alecmc
Go for about 800 fps, that's about what I load my steel loads to. And Doug is right, when I have a decent draw the first shot is a light poof, not a squib, but not it's full bang.
ede
When I tested the loads I angled the muzzle downward at 45* to move the powder forward to take that into consideration.
