Canon40
I am in the research stage for upgrading my holster for my Limited gun. I am currently running a holster for my production gun and I am getting pretty good working with it but I would like to expand on that. I have also been looking at "*thumb rest [generic]*" thumb rests which obviously can't be run in a standard holster, only a race holster. The thumb rest I am looking at (I think the only one for a front rail right now) is the SJC Frame Weight with thumb rest. Here's the question part. What holsters does the frame weight work with out of the box? I already have my ordered list of my holster preferences without taking into account the frame weight, I just want to check up on this to guide my decision. Thanks, Canon40
LoganbillJ
Here is the only other rail mounted thumb rest I could find before designing my own. I thought it looked like it placed your thumb too low(for my grip). Any reason you are going with a rail mounted rather than frame mount? Also what gun are you running? http://www.speedledgellc.com/
Canon40
I shoot a gen 4 Glock. The problem is more complicated since I'm a leftie. I have seen a few options for a frame mount rest but the only way I can see to securely mount them to glock would be with a serious glue of some kind. That would also be a permanent thing that I couldn't ditch if I change my grip or don't want it anymore. I like the idea of a rail mount for that reason and adjustability. LoganbillJ
Makes sense. Being a leftie changes things for sure.
LilBunniFuFu
The SJC thumbrest requires you to drill your frame in the same spot as their cmore mount. Just putting that out there.
Canon40
It does? It looks like just a rail mount deal. Do they have another similar product?
Canon40
I dont mind drilling, I just dont want to glue things on. If I had enough money for an all out STI limited setup I would do a drilled and frame mounted rest.
LilBunniFuFu
The frame weight thumb rest bolts on to the weight and in a bushing drilled through the frame. I believe that the SJC Dowel type thumb rest does not require drilling and just replaces your trigger pin. Link here. Depends on your preference.
