2o2ll
Ok I've never shot in any competitions yet so what books and DVDs are must haves for me to learn proper training exercises and techniques? What "items" are must haves besides dry fire targets? Thanks for the time gentlemen.

trgt
All of them :-) ... are nice and have different things to teach depending on what you are looking for. To your original question I don't know that anything is a must have bible, but there are a LOT of great resources. From the perspective of someone who is new-er myself, I've made the following specific recommendations before. If you haven't shot USPSA at all, and are not sure where you are on fundamentals, try: Modern Handgun Fundamentals, From Beginner to Pro, Brad Engmann http://www.amazon.com/Modern-Handgun-Fundamentals-From-Beginner/dp/0615573258 You don't need to, but if you go through this book before your first outing, you'll be ahead of the game compared to those that just show to the safety meeting having only shot static paper targets before. It's pretty comprehensive in terms of touching on pretty much everything you need think about. Then after doing an event or two to get the feel of what's going on ( just finish the match safely/no-DQ - don't worry about time !! ), try these to see how to move up from 'U' through the classes, in addition to Brad's: Practical Pistol: Fundamental Techniques and Competition Skills, Ben Stoegerhttp://www.amazon.com/Practical-Pistol-Fundamental-Techniques-Competition/dp/1482009978 Your Competition Handgun Training Program, Michael Ross Seeklander http://www.amazon.com/Your-Competition-Handgun-Training-Program/dp/144996642X Then you can buy all the rest of the ones on Enos, compared to the cost of your gun, ammo, live training, etc, all these book resources are downright cheap, IMHO.
