FWSixgunner
I am scraping for whatever I can that'll go bang and found an lb of this from my shot gunning days. I saw a couple loads in some old Winchester manual I found online, but I can't even find it on the burn-rate charts. Is there a current equivalent? Thanks? Kyreb
My older Winchester loading manuals specifically advise against the use of burn rate charts to develop loads. Therefore they did not publish this data in the manual. The only load published in this manual for 9mm is 4.5 grains with a 115FMJ @1125 FPS and 32K pressure. I loaded the following with WSL in the mid 90s for use mostly in my first G17. Use at your own risk. 4.6 gr with a Rainer 124 gr plated bullet 4.0 Ditto (very light load for use in a WWII era gun) 4.4 gr with a lead 115 gr RN 4.5 gr with Zero 124 gr FMJ (this one showed signs of pressure) Edited December 31, 2013 by Kyreb
TonyT
In 45ACP I have used 3.5 gr. WSL with WLP and a 185 gr LSWC for 790 fps and excellent accuracy equivalent to my old load of 3.8 gr. VV N-310 withthe same components. Generally I use the so called shotgun powders in both my shotgun and pistol loads - WSL, WSF, WST, PROMO, HS-700X. I have never used WSL in 9mm. My favorite 9mm powder is WSF. Edited January 1, 2014 by TonyT
