  1. I bought a couple of cases of Federal magnum SP primers way back in the Clinton AWB days of primer famine. I had absolutely no issues with my Para. I did dial back my WST load back by a half grain and still made major confortably.
  2. Never been to AZ, but Houston would be tough to beat. I could easily shoot 12 local matches (3G, USPSA, IDPA,Steel Challenge) a month if staying married was not a consideration.
  3. Shortages during the Clinton AWB years taught me to keep a base stock on hand of primers and powder at all times. I decided to never get caught like that again. Wife did get a little worked up when I came home from the funshow (pre Sandy Hook) with two 40 lb kegs of BLC2 tho.......
  4. I have had very good accuracy with their 124 gr HPs in a TTI G34 and an XDm. I can buy them locally at the Freedom Munitions store. Been shooting them for a couple years now. I just loaded my first 1000 rounds 180 gr HPs for a TTI G35. No range time yet due to a major remodeling project underway.
  5. Presently I have got a TTI G35 lost somewhere in the USPS jungle. It was shipped by a member here to my FFL in Houston. He runs his FFL on the side out of his day job office. Seems the USPS guy did not want to get out of his truck at the address to even attempt delivery. According to the on line tracking, they marked it "incorrect address" and sent it back to the sender. I was surprised there is no way to reroute or redeliver a package through USPS like you can with UPS and FedEx. Tried their customer service line and sat on hold twice for 30 mins and no one ever picked up either time. Likewise their customer service E mail line. Two days later with no reply as well. The gun cannot be tracked on the return trip. Right now I would give it no more than 50/50 that the gun ever resurfaces. I will never ship anything of value by USPS again.
  6. Xtreme has a pretty cool video on on the process on their Facebook page. https://www.facebook.com/#!/FreedomStartsHere
  7. Patrick Sweeney's book series on all things AR15 are fantastic. I believe he covers cleaning and maintenance in volume 1. I buy through Amazon.
  8. My older Winchester loading manuals specifically advise against the use of burn rate charts to develop loads. Therefore they did not publish this data in the manual. The only load published in this manual for 9mm is 4.5 grains with a 115FMJ @1125 FPS and 32K pressure. I loaded the following with WSL in the mid 90s for use mostly in my first G17. Use at your own risk. 4.6 gr with a Rainer 124 gr plated bullet 4.0 Ditto (very light load for use in a WWII era gun) 4.4 gr with a lead 115 gr RN 4.5 gr with Zero 124 gr FMJ (this one showed signs of pressure)
  9. I have a Chase card from Southwest airlines. It is hard to use on the web anywhere compared to my other cards...gun related purchase or not.
  10. This topic has interest to me. I have same problem cropping up. Normally when manually clearing my M2.
  11. Proud owner of several SA 1911s including a 9mm loaded. Excellent service from all right out of the box.

    WST in 9mm

4.7 grains here with an Xtreme 124 gr JHP. Very accurate load.
  13. Midway USA had 77 SMKs W/C in 500 ct boxes early this week. I have been running 69 SMK with 24.1 gr TAC. Consistently getting MOA but nothing better. However in my SPR with 18" White Oak 1:7 bbl, I am good on 4 MOA plates out to 500 yards.
  14. My SA loaded 9mm and metal form mags have not had a single hiccup in the three years since I bought it. Great gun right out of the box.
  15. I am running an 18" White Oak Armament for most 3G matches. On the occasional match where everything is set in pistols bays and more of a "hoser" style, I run an older Bushmaster 12" with long flash hider and a C-More. I built the shorter of the two for USPSA rifle side matches back when dinosaurs still roamed the earth.
  16. I was in a local gun store yesterday and saw two single stack, single port .45 ACP comp guns on the shelf. A trip down memory lane I tell ya! I had my Smith cut the comp off of mine...An early Wilson gun....shot it in limited awhile. Now it is my son's pride and joy. Still shoots like a laser beam.
  17. I am a dyed in wool 1911 guy. When I got into 3 gun three years ago I made the switch to a high cap 9. I ran a Glock for the first year but never really got used to the grip angle. I picked up a XDm 5.25 and never looked back. Mine came out of Dawson Precision with a trigger job and a set of their FO sights. In two years I have never had a single misfeed or hiccup. It is very accurate. I have had thoughts about switching to Production and running it in some IPSC matches as well. Bottom line: Great gun, no regrets here at all.
  18. Wow! Glad you caught that. 40 brass seems so much more likely to be problematic than .45 or .9mm.
  19. Heck...you are still a kid. I am 56. It never stops. ;-) I can really, really relate to Ralphie in the Christmas Story.
  20. Been watching this at least every other day since I ordered.
  21. Just got off the phone with TTI. They are shipping mine Monday. Whew! Panic attack over. My FFL runs a small, mainly Class 3 shop in a not so great part of town. I was worried it had disappeared off the delivery truck.
  22. 5 Weeks? I have had mine on order since May 8th. No answer to my E mail two weeks ago. Just sent Taran a follow up. I was told a month delivery when I ordered. I oreered a ground up build 24" bbl package. What did you order? Did you receive a notification when it shipped? I hope UPS did not intercept my shotgun!
  23. If you order the complete package, what is the current delivery lead time from placing the order to receipt?
  24. I ordered mine from TTI back in June. I did not vote as I have not personally runs the other guys stuff. I went with TTI based on advise from the Team Noveske guys. Ordered in early June, anxiously awaiting delivery. Taran personally took my call and worked through the order process with me. He seems like a heck of a nice guy. Rick
